Sad Doggie

Last Friday we took Toshi to get neutered.  Everything went well and Dan was able to pick him up that afternoon.  Needless to say Toshi was a very sad doggie when he came home that night.

I would say this was the calmest weekend we have had since Toshi arrived....

Toshi's cone finally came off on Wednesday.  He has had more energy since the cone came off then before his surgery, hmmm I thought they were suppose to be a bit more calm after they were neutered......

Road Trip

Last Thursday all three of us made our way to Tucson to celebrate Tracey's graduation (congrats Tracey!)  We started our 6 1/2 hour journey at about 9am.  Now this was Toshi's first big road trip, so we were a little nervous about how he would handle the long drive in the car.  The only thing we had going for us is that he likes to nap during the day, so leaving at 9am should be perfect.  Luckily it was, after about 10 minutes in the car he was asleep.  To our amazement he slept the whole way.

Toshi had a great time in Tucson. I'm pretty sure he thought the graduation party was for him.  He had so much fun socilaizing, and getting tons of treats and pets all night.

Toshi was also able to fit in time to go sightseeing around town....

Our first road trip was a success.  Hopefully there are many more to come.

Toy Story

Toshi's favorite time of the day is normally the same time Dan and i are ready to relax.  This is the time of day that he must play with every toy he has.  He also likes to make sure that he is the only thing you are paying attention to.

None of the toys are safe from Toshi's nighttime antics.

Toshi's (not so) Big Day Out

On Saturday, Dan and I had a fun filled day planned for Toshi.  The weather was perfect and since Dan and I have been missing downtown lately we thought it would be a good idea to take Toshi on his first big outing.  Miyagi always loved walking around downtown so we pretty much assumed Toshi would feel the same way.  The only thing we failed to remember is that he is only 16 weeks and Miyagi was 8yrs old.

Our day began with a trip to Caffe Calabria in North Park.  Things started out okay, he was a bit overwhelmed with all of the traffic and people, but once we reached the coffee shop he was completely happy with hanging outside and enjoying the breeze.

Our next stop was downtown..We started at the convention center and then tried out the dog park at Petco Park.  Normally Toshi loves to play with other doggies, but today was not his day.  I think it was a combination of the warm weather and the new environment but Toshi was not a happy puppy.

Since the weather was so perfect we were hoping to enjoy one more place with our doggie before heading home.  We decided to head over to Torrey Pines glider-port.  We thought the beach would help relaxing him and it seemed to do the trick.
He definitely calmed down a bit and even enjoyed some water to cool down.  So happy we deiced to end out trip here, well almost end our trip here....we couldn't go all the was to La Jolla and not stop for some Sprinkles....Did you know they even have doggie cupcakes :)

best part of the day....
Although things didn't turn out exactly how we planned, we had a really fun day out with our doggie.  We will also be practicing our walks around the neighborhood a bit more before we head downtown any time soon.
